How To Kill 12 Hours At The Lima Airport

• 11:30am: Arrive on flight from Cusco
• 12:00pm: Find bag at domestic baggage claim and let it keep going around a few more times just to kill some time
• 12:30pm: See if Delta desk opens 12 hours early (uh, no)
• 1:00pm: Peruse meager food options in terminal ultimately settling for Papa John´s personal size pizza (the food options are that meager)
• 1:30pm: Order 2nd Papa John´s personal pizza when the 2 bites it took to finish the first one shockingly doesn´t fill you up
• 2:00pm: Buy and read entire issue of National Geographic Traveler from cover to cover, including all ads, because it´s 1 of 2 magazines available in English
• 4:00pm: Seriously consider buying Cosmo, the other magazine available in English
• 4:30pm: Buy ice cream from McDonald´s despite diet
• 4:31pm: Finish unsatisfying ice cream from McDonald´s, feel fat
• 5:00pm: Pass by massage booth, say "maybe later" and mean it
• 5:30pm: Work on Spanish skills by trying to figure out airport announcements in Spanish before English version follows
• 6:30pm: Thumb through Cosmo just to see if it´d be worth it
• 7:00pm: Try out Peruvian flute purchased as souvenir the night before
• 7:15pm: Regret Peruvian flute purchase along with other passengers nearby
• 7:30pm: See if Delta desk opens 6 hours early (nada...but see, the Spanish is improving)
• 8:00pm: Unpack and repack luggage just for something to do (and to feed the OCD)
• 8:30pm: Give crash course to nearby passengers on how to organize their own luggage
• 9:00pm: Consider when trend of talking on cell phones while using the bathroom went international
• 9:15pm: Develop plan to stop it on all fronts
• 9:30pm: Have conversation with airport (aeropuerto) manger about increasing water pressure so you no longer have to deposit "used" tissue in trash can next to toilet instead of flushing it when you´re in Peru
• 10:00pm: Check email at airport internet cafe (aeropuerto internet cafe)
• 10:05pm: Finish responding to sole email and depart internet cafe
• 10:30pm: Be the first passenger to check in at Delta desk for flight (finally!!)
• 11:00pm: Realize you still have 2.5 hours before the flight departs
• 11:30pm: Purchase Cosmo
